Silver Spring Man Arrested In Takoma Park for Marijuana Possession

Police found enough pot to charge him with intent to distribute, police said.

A Silver Spring man was arrested early Thursday morning for possession with intent to distribute marijuana and possession of paraphernalia, Takoma Park Police said. Taron Trice, 33, was picked up by the Takoma Park Tactical Enforcement Unit.

The unit was on patrol in the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 3:42 a.m. when a check of a suspicious vehicle was found to be occupied by a juvenile and another subject, police said. The juvenile gave a room number to the hotel adjacent to the vehicle where she was staying.  

Contact was made with the occupants of the room and a male, later identified as Trice, and a female juvenile were inside the room, police said.

A large quantity of marijuana was found in the hotel room with Trice, police said.

The juveniles were taken to one of the juvenile’s guardians in Silver Spring after consultation with Prince George’s County Child Protective Services, police said.
