Rash of Burglaries Hit Takoma Park in August

There have been three burglaries in August so far.

There have been three burglaries already in August in Takoma Park, according to Takoma Park Police Crime Analysist Andrew Gucciardo.

The burglaries have occurred during weekday mornings when residents are at work. The target items inclide cash, televisions, computers and iPads, according to Gucciardo, and entry has been made through open doors and windows.

To help reduce their chances of being a victim, residents can secure all doors and windows with working locks, trim shrubbery and trees away from windows and doors, keep valuable items out of plain sight, record serial numbers of items to aid in investigations, and report all suspicious persons and vehicles to the police immediately.
