Update: Police Search For Takoma Park Stabbing Suspect

Area police are searching for the suspect who stabbed a man at a bus stop on New Hampshire Avenue in Takoma Park.

Update, June 19, 8 p.m.: The suspect in Tuesday's stabbing is described as a black male, in his 30's, approximately 5-foot-11 with a thin athletic build, dark complexion, short dark hair and stubble facial hair. He was wearing blue jeans and black shoes, according to Takoma Park Police Crime Analyst Andrew Gucciardo.

Investigation continues under case #12030038.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 301.270.1100.

Original Story, June 19, 6:10 p.m.: Takoma Park Police are canvassing the area for a suspect who stabbed a man at a bus stop on New Hampshire Avenue today around 4:30 p.m.

Police said the stabbing was the result of an armed robbery. The suspect got off a bus heading southbound on New Hampshire Avenue toward Eastern Avenue. He approached a man waiting at the bus stop and asked the man for property. According to police a struggle ensued and the suspect stabbed the man multiple times with a sharp object. Police have not yet identified the weapon.

The victim’s condition is unknown as he was air lifted to Medstar. Police said he was alert when he left the scene.

At this time police have no identifying details for the suspect and have not released information on the victim’s age.

Takoma Park Police are working with Prince George’s County Police to find the suspect. The suspect was last seen fleeing toward Prince George’s County.
