Part 2: Takoma Park Crime Stats

Crime was down overall in Takoma Park for 2011.

There were 565 crimes in the city in 2011, as compared to 652 in 2010, according to statistics from Takoma Park Crime Analyst Andrew Gucciardo.

Crime categories include homicide, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and auto theft.

. Today we'll dive into the numbers for aggravated assault, burglary, larceny and auto theft.

Aggravated assault stayed the same with 26 in each of 2010 and 2011, but burglaries and larcenies dropped significantly. There were 150 burglaries in 2010 and only 109 in 2011. There were 364 larcenies in 2010 and only 317 in 2011.
