MPD Step Up Enforcement of Curfew Laws

July and August curfews are different from the rest of the year.

Metropolitan Police are cracking down on juveniles breaking curfew, which applies to both residents and non residents, Takoma Park Police said.

The curfew law applies to all persons under the age of 17 who are in the District of Columbia during curfew hours. This includes both District residents as well as young people who reside elsewhere.

The punishment for breaking curfew is up to 25 hours of community service.
