Man Robbed at Knife Point on New Hampshire Ave

The man was walking with his family.

A man was robbed at knife point while walking with his family on New Hampshire Avenue Friday night, according to Takoma Park Police.

Takoma Park Police responded to the 7400 block of New Hampshire Avenue around 6:40 p.m. on August 17 where a man told them that while he was walking with his family he was approached by three suspects in a vehicle who wanted to sell him property.

When the victim said he did not want to buy the property, the suspect who was sitting in the front passenger seat brandished a pocket knife, 6 inches with a black handle and silver blade. The man with the knife took property from the victim, police said.

Neither the victim nor his family suffered any physical injuries.

Investigation continues under case #12040859.  Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call 301.270.1100.

Supposedly crime is down, but armed robberies still occur here at an alarming rate. One of the worst things about living in Takoma Park is the amount of violent crime that takes place.
