Second Avenue Sees Its First Burglary of the Year
There have been 129 burglaries through October.
Takoma Park Police responded to the 6500 block of Second Avenue for reports of a residential burglary around 1:45 p.m., police said.
Entry was made by forcing open the front door using some type of heavy object to strike the door knob and dead bolt, causing the door frame and door to give way, police said. No property was taken and there are no known suspects at this time.
No burglaries have occured on Second Avenue through October, according to police statistics. As of the end of October, there were 129 burglaries reported in Takoma Park. There were 112 in 2009.
