City Council Meeting to Include Annual Police Update

Burglaries will be a priority this year.

The highlight of this week's council meeting will be the annual police report from Takoma Park Police Chief Ronald Ricucci.  The talk will set the goals for the coming year and highlight the problems that plagued the city last year. 

In a recent interview with Takoma Park Patch, Ricucci talked about the burglary problem that persisted in 2010. 

"I wasn't happy with the amount of burglaries last year," Takoma Park Police Chief Ronald Ricucci said.

Burglaries were up 33 percent in 2010 from 2009 even though .

Burglaries are the priority this year, Ricucci said. Last year the department worked to reduce robberies, which were down 11 percent in 2010 from 2009.
