Burglary Arrest Made in Takoma Park

Caribbean Market was burgled Feb. 27.

Takoma Park Police arrested Meverard Edward Paul, 19, of Takoma Park, for second-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, conspiracy to commit
second-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of
property Friday.

On Feb. 27, an attempted commercial burglary occurred in the 7500 block of New Hampshire Avenue (Caribbean Market). Security footage recorded the subjects attempting to break the front glass by throwing a brick, but failed several times. One of the subjects was last seen walking up the staircase toward the business.  A lookout was given pursuant to the video surveillance.

On Mar. 3 at around 10:39 a.m., a Takoma Park Police Officer was on patrol in the area of New Hampshire Avenue and Sligo Creek Parkway when he noticed a subject matching the description from the attempted burglary of the Caribbean Market. And after an investigation, Paul was arrested.
