Auto Thefts Up From 2010 Through May in Takoma Park
Police said they have notice the spike in auto thefts and are taking action.
Most crime in Takoma Park is down or even with 2010 so far this year, but police statistics through May showed a significant uptick in auto thefts.
"We identified this problem early on this year and have been allocating resources to reduce this spike in crime," Takoma Park Crime Analyst Andrew Gucciardo said. "We would like to remind our residents to always lock there vehicle doors, use security devices, arm alarms, and report suspicious activity to the police department immediately."
All statistics are through May.
