Man Assaulted, Robbed at Gunpoint on Lee Avenue

Victim was walking to his car when the incident occurred; second suspect drove getaway car.

A man walking to his parked car was assaulted and robbed at gunpoint early Saturday, according to Takoma Park Police.

Police responded to the unit block of Lee Avenue at approximately 1:16 a.m. for reports of an armed robbery on Oct. 22.

The man was approached by an unknown black male as he walked towards his car in the unit block of Lee Avenue, police said. The suspect, brandishing a black handgun, assaulted the man and demanded property, said police.

The man complied, and the suspect fled in a gold-colored Infinity driven by a second unknown suspect in an unknown direction, police said.

The man did not sustain major physical injury, police said.

The suspect wielding a handgun is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall and 145 pounds. He was wearing a black North Face jacket and black ski mask.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call police at 301-270-1100. The investigation continues under case No. 11052455.
