Takoma Park Chanteuse Riki Schneyer CD Release Party & Concert

This year marks the fiftieth anniversary year of FSGW’s
founding and we are celebrating with programming that celebrates our rich and
eclectic past.  And who better to celebrate
with than Riki Schneyer?!

Riki, the
daughter of FSGW co-founders Helen and Sol Schneyer, literally grew up with
FSGW.  She sang with all the heroes of
the Folk Music Revival and her stories of encounters with folk idols and guitar
gods make for enthralling and often hilarious listening.

In her performances, Riki blends a wide-ranging repertoire
with funny, often poignant stories of growing up with her highly creative,
wildly unpredictable family and their zany, talented friends.  At the concert, Riki will be celebrating her
just-released CD, “Children of Zion.”
The songs on the CD range from Child Ballads to Blues to Mountain Music.  For this concert, Riki will be joined by
Jennifer Cutting and Steve Winick (Ocean Orchestra), Deb Robins and Larry Hanks,
and her cousins Robin Murie, John Wenstrom and Jess Wenstrom.
