Have you always wanted to learn how to play steel drums? Here's your
chance! The PanTones (the Cultural Academy For Excellence's adult steel
band, based in Mt. Rainier, MD) will be leading a beginning steel drum
workshop under the direction of Adam Grise. Instruments will be
provided. Participants will learn about the different types of
instruments in a steel band, some of the historical & cultural
background from Trinidad & Tobago, and get to try some rudimentary
techniques and tunes. Open to ages 16 and up; no prior musical
experience is required. CAFE offers ongoing adult classes in Mt.
Rainier, MD, as well as the opportunity to join the PanTones band. More
