Perdue Fair Share Campaign Launches in Montgomery County

Takoma Park, MD – Food & Water Watch will host a news conference on October 2 at 10 a.m. to announce the launch of the Perdue Fair Share Campaign in Montgomery County. The local launch coincides with campaign launches in Baltimore and on the Eastern Shore as part of a state-wide effort to pass legislation to make large-scale chicken companies pay their fair share of Chesapeake Bay clean up costs. Maryland state legislators are considering a bill this fall that would these companies contribute to Bay restoration efforts after years of giving them a free ride on pollution.
