Free City Hall Movie Friday, May 2 at 7pm.

Co-sponsored by Takoma Park's Nuclear Free Committee and Beyond Nuclear, the film "Nuclear Savage" looks at U.S. atomic weapons testing in the Pacific that vaporized islands and devastated entire populations. This award-winning documentary is a shocking expose and portrait of Pacific Islanders still struggling after decades of radiation poisoning as a result of atomic testing. Following the free film will be commentary by Robert Alvarez, senior scholar at the Institute for Policy Studies (IPS) and Takoma Park resident expert, who testified before Congress on behalf of the islanders exposed to the weapons testing.
