Bulbs for All Seasons Talk hosted by Takoma Hort Club

“Bulbs for All Seasons”

Hosted by the Takoma Hort Club

Wednesday, September 18, 2013, 7:30 to 9:00 pm

Historic Takoma, Inc., 7328 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park, MD

Join the Takoma Horticultural
Club
for a presentation by Merikay Smith, head of the
Montgomery County Master Gardeners Speaker’s Group. She gardens on two
acres in Darnestown, along with her husband and son. Her popular
presentations are always full of gorgeous photos of her spacious
gardens, thoughtfully planned with nature in mind. Merikay comes from a
long line of gardeners and has years of experience with bulbs. She loves
to experiment!

Her talk will include the tremendous variety of bulbs available
to plant for year-round blooms with an emphasis on native and
deer-resistant plants. She will be happy to answer all your bulb-related

questions.

Merikay’s bulb talk is very timely, especially for those who are
planning to attend the Takoma Street Festival on October 6. The Takoma
Horticultural Club, as usual, will be selling “direct from Holland”
bulbs at their booth at the TP Street Fest. This is the club’s only annual fund raiser and
club members get a 10% discount on their bulb purchases!

This event is free and open to the public. No
reservations required.

You are encouraged to bring a snack to share and to
wear a recycled nametag. Find out more about the Takoma Horticultural
Club on our website: www.TakomaHort.org. You are welcome to renew your
membership or join the THC. Please bring a check for $12 or exact change
if you want to renew or join.
