Grab & Go Kids Planner: March 10 through March 16

Get the family up and out this week with stories, art and self-esteem building fun.

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time to check out our Grab & Go Kids Planner to see what the Takoma Park has to offer kids and families this week. As always, we'd love to hear from you if there are any local, family-friendly events that we missed. Let us know, and we'll be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future.

There's lots to do in and around Takoma Park this week. You can enjoy the usual story time favorites at local libraries or enjoy a fun festival or two. The focus this week is on getting kids to love who they are.

Local moms and dads may want to get their families out to some of these events. Take a look:

Where/When: Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Montgomery College- Takoma Park Campus Performing Arts Center.
Why Go: Get your kids excited to be who they are. There will be plenty of opportunities for them to express themselves through dance, art and other interactive workshops.
Pricing: FREE

Where/When: Saturday from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at .
Why Go: Whether your child is already a go-getter, or needs a little nudge to take the next step to independence, this fair is a great chance for the whole family to learn about expanding a child's horizons. 
Pricing: $15 per person, max $50 per family. FREE for children younger than 2.

Where/When: The furry fun will be at the Takoma Park DC Neighborhood Library on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Why Go: There is no better way to get yourself ready to go to bed than snuggling with a friendly furry buddy. Kids and parents will enjoy the pajama time fun and the animals brought in by PAL.

• BABY AND TODDLER
Where/When: Take your baby or toddler over to the Takoma Park DC Neighborhood Library at 10 a.m. on Wednesday.
Why Go: We're big fans of story times and lap times. Part of that is because we secretly want to have someone read us stories from time to time. Who doesn't? Well, if you, your baby or toddler want to enjoy a relaxing morning of stories and songs, this is right up your alley.
Pricing: FREE

• NEIGHBORHOOD
Where/When:  at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.
Why Go: Here's a chance for families to meet up, make friends, hear stories, sing songs and have fun.
