Frugal Family: Five Deals to Stretch the Family Budget

Welcome back to our weekly rundown of five local deals to help with your family’s bottom line. Since we do the scouting, we save you time as well as money.

This week we found deals to save on save on a local dance program for the students; and entertainment and meal savings for the whole family. Plus, a free snack with your morning (or afternoon) coffee! Remember to check with the merchant for additional conditions, if any:

Deal: Save half on fall term Youth Dance programs at the renowned studio, through discounter Goldstar.com. The unique youth-led program will run weekly through the fall term and students can attend as many classes as they want.

2. $1 Movie Rental (and get one free!): Blockbuster Express, at , 909 Thayer Ave., 301-565-0686 (and other locations).

Deal: Rent a movie for just $1 from any Blockbuster movie kiosk, located at Safeway, selected 7-Eleven stores and other locations; plus sign up for their email club to get one free rental. Find the kiosk nearest you at Blockbusterexpress.com.

Deals: Two deal offers during their "Let's Get Cheesy" promotion: 1) Take 20% off your meal check with their coupon; or 2) You and a friend both get free quesadilla when you send them a "cheesy" ecard (pick one on their website).

Deal: Save $5 on lunch or dinner by signing up for their e-mail list.
