UPDATE: Downed Tree Forces Flower Avenue Road Closure

The road between Cherry and Garland avenues is now open.

Update, 6:45 p.m.: Flower Avenue between Cherry and Garland avenues is now open to traffic. Proceed with caution as downed wires have been secured up off the ground, however, they are hanging somewhat low across the street. There is enough clearance for a standard vehicle to pass under the wires.

Update, April 17, 7:45 a.m.: Flower Avenue between Cherry and Garland avenues remains closed due to a downed tree in the 7200 block of Flower Avenue.

The tree fell Saturday night as a result of high winds and rain from yesterday's intense weather system that resulted in alerts issued around the region about the potential of severe thunderstorms and tornadoes.
