4th Annual Bake Bethesda A Pie Contest & MR. DIVABETIC MAKE LABOR DAY SWEET AT CENTRAL FARM MARKETS

Central Farm Markets is hosting its 4th Annual Bake Bethesda A Pie Contest at Bethesda Central Farm Market on Sunday, September 1, 2013. Back by popular demand, Mr. Divabetic will join us to engage the audience with fun and games.

Mr. Divabetic, who raises diabetes awareness around the country, is on a quest to glamorize good health.  Helping us kick off Bake Bethesda A Pie Contest, Mr. Divabetic will interview contestants and customers at the market on his red TOMATO carpet to capture their honest opinions about healthy lifestyle choices. Interviews will be compiled into videos that will be posted on Mr. Divabetic’s YouTube channel.

Bake Bethesda A Pie Contest is in its 4th year and features creative pies in two categories, Sweet and Savory. Contestants must drop off their pies between 9 & 10am and Judging will take place at 11am at Bethesda Central Farm Market on September 1.  The winners will be announced at 12pm. After the winners are announced, the pies will be sliced and given to the spectators to sample. The crowd goes wild for pie!

The pie contest is open to amateur bakers only and the contest is free to enter, but there is a $5 donation required per pie entry that goes to Manna Food Center.

“The Annual Bake Bethesda A Pie contest has exceeded our expectations. There are so many talented bakers that enter their delicious creations that it is hard to choose a winner. Everyone has fun and we raise a lot of money for Manna.  It’s a win-win for everyone”, says Co-Founder Ann Brody Cove.
