Takoma Foundation Hosts Beerfest

The fest will feature local brews and benefit the Takoma Foundation.

If you like beer and giving money to local nonprofits, then you're in luck.

The Takoma Foundation will be hosting the fourth annual Beerfest on Oct. 13 at the Caddy-Lee Mansion in Takoma, D.C. Tickets are $35 in advance and $40 at the door.

“In just a few years, it’s become a must do event on a lot of people’s calendars,” said Peter Feiden, chair of the Beerfest and a member of the Takoma Foundation Board. “We’re really fortunate to have such generous brewers, food donors, and performers who make it an unforgettable afternoon.”

A large back yard will accommodate tables for nine craft brewers who will be bringing at least 18 types of beer. Country, blues and folk trio Sciatica will perform in the gazebo, and Dance Afire will do two short fire-dance shows at dusk on the lawn.

Brews are coming from 3 Stars, Baying Hound, Capital City, D.C. Brau, District Chop House, Franklin’s, Gordon Biersch, Growlers, New Belgium, and Old Dominion. Donated food will be coming from many of Takoma Park’s favorite eateries, including Capital City Cheesecake, Mark’s Kitchen, Olive Lounge, Roscoe’s, Souper Girl, and Takoma Bistro, as well as Whole Foods-Silver Spring. Plus, bratwursts donated by Johnsonville Sausage will be grilled
