Bites Nearby: Pho 75

You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Each week, Takoma Park Patch picks a great restaurant either in town or nearby that is worth checking out. Here's this week's choice.

Pho 75 on the Takoma Park/Hyattsville border offers some of the best pho in the area, for possibly the lowest price in the area. What the shop lacks in ambiance, it makes up for in the delicious broth, noodles and meat.

I have never been disappointed with a meal I have gobbled down at Pho 75. Like its sister locations in Arlington and Rockville, the menu is all about pho-pho-pho. No rice plates, no lunch specials. Just your standard small or large sizes.

I waver between ordering the all-white breast meat pho ga (chicken) or pho tai (lean beef). My kids love the pho with meatballs, and my more adverturous dining mates have informed me that soups with tripe and other beef cuts are also delish.

Be sure to also try the yummy beverages. Go for the ca phe sua da (Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk) if you need a decadent, sweet pick-me-up. Or try a salty lemonade as the perfect foil for that huge squirt of Sriracha in your soup.
