Bar Highlight: Mrs. K’s Toll House

No idea where to grab a drink with friends this weekend?

Montgomery County is filled with restaurants that serve up delicious eats, but what if you just want to grab a drink and catch up with friends?

is a great place to socialize. As a historic landmark located at 9201 Colesville Rd. in Silver Spring, the home was originally used as a toll house in the early 1900’s. It cost two cents for travelers to use the road.

Today, the restaurant is mostly known for fine dining and an elaborate brunch, but just below the main floor is a wine cellar. The 12-stool bar is surrounded by the décor of exposed brick, wooden beams overhead, rich woods, and low lighting.
