ALDI Grocery Store Opens Friday

The remodeled store opens Friday, Nov. 16.

ALDI grocery store is set to reopen its Langley Park location Friday with a promise of an upgraded design and most of all quality food.

The store located on 7609 New Hampshire Ave. will showcase higher ceilings, improved natural lighting and environmentally friendly building material including energy-saving refrigeration.

Customers will also be able to use a cart rental system through which shoppers insert a quarter to release a cart and receive the quarter back upon the cart’s return.

“We are pleased to showcase the new look of ALDI with this updated store in Langley Park and continue to help customers stretch their dollars,” Jeff Baehr, Frederick division vice president for ALDI, said. “As important as price is, there’s only one way to attract and keep shoppers: You have to have quality products. When people try our ALDI exclusive brands, they are excited by the savings and impressed by the quality.”

The community is welcomed to tour the new location and sample ALDI brands from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. They can also enter an on-site sweepstakes for a chance to be one of five winners of a Thanksgiving prize pack, including seasonal items and ALDI gift certificates.

Store hours: 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday. ALDI accepts cash, debit and EBT cards.

As the article notes, the store is "reopening," not "opening," as the headline says. And the quarter-for-a-cart system is not new; it's in place at all ALDI stores.

Also, the location is not "new," as the article says. The store is in the same place, at New Hampshire and Holton; it's just been renovated.
