We Are Takoma Presents Doc in Progress

If you're interested in discovering the next Errol Morris or Ken Burns, the Docs in Progress event sponsored by We Are Takoma Thursday night might be the event for you.

Essakane Unveiled will be screened for free at 7:30 p.m. at the as part of the Docs in Progress series. Filmmakers Kiley Kraskouskas, Leola Calzolai-Stewart and Andrea Pappito will be on hand to take questions.  

Essakane Unveiled is the story of the most remote music festival in the world, Festival au Desert. The festival brings together western musicians to jam with Malian, Tuareg, and West African musicians to foster cultural exchange and
economic development. But violence between rebel Tuaregs and the Malian government threatens the fate of the festival.
