"We Are Takoma" Features Poets, a Pianist and the Pied Piper

All events take place in the Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium.

 

As a part of the city’s on-going “We are Takoma” series, poetry, piano and the “Pied Piper” take center stage this week in the Takoma Park Community Center Auditorium.

This evening at 7:30 p.m., pianist Carl Banner will perform a “live music blog,” including selections by Milhaud, Bach, Chopin and Schumann, while conversing with the audience. Admission is free, but a $15 donation is suggested.

June’s Third Thursday poetry series will feature the work of Anne Bracken, Janice Lynch Schuster, Mary Beth Hatem and Annetta Sawyer. Celebrate the end of the 2011-2012 Third Thursday series at 7:30 p.m.

“We Are Takoma” wraps up on Saturday at 4 p.m. with a guitar performance of children’s favorites by Mr. Gabe, “The Pied Piper of Takoma Park.” Admission is free, but a $6 donation is recommended.
