An important decade in music history started 22 years ago.

Forget Natitude, it's time for some Raditude. There are few things better than hanging out with some friends and seeing live music, but with so many shows all over the city it's tough to know what'll be good. Don't worry, we have you covered.

Check out Indie Kicks every Thursday for our rundown of who's coming to the DC area in the coming months.

  • Friday, Sponge is playing the Recher Theatre in Towson. If you came of age in the early '90s as I did then you remember what a great time it was for the radio. You could hear everything from Sonic Youth to Gin Blossoms and the pop hits still had some meaning behind them. One of those hits was "Molly" by Sponge, with its popular refrain, "Sixteen candles down the drain." These are the songs that I haven't heard in years, but still know every word to. The show is $16 and doors are at 7 p.m.
