Great Escape: For Chocolate Lovers

The power of chocolate.

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, treat yourself to a day of chocolate.  While no one would blame you for spending the day in your pajamas on the sofa with a box of bonbons on your lap, allow me to suggest a healthier, less self-absorbed alternative.

If you like chocolate you are sure to love this two day event honoring the history, science and lure of chocolate.  Saturday, February 12 and Sunday, February 13 from 10-4:30 at the National Museum of the American Indian, MARS Chocolate North America will present the “Power of Chocolate” through dance, visual art, science, history and food demonstrations.

Enjoy the moves of  local Bolivian dance groups, Alma Boliviana and Tradiciones Bolivianas Dancers, or learn how to transform roasted cacao beans into traditional drinking chocolate.  The event promises to be a chocoholic’s dream.
