Why Go: The piece was first performed in Baltimore in 1934 so it's kind of like a homecoming having the BSO play it in Rockville.

2. Cycles: A Multimedia Exhibit

Where/When: Opening reception 6 p.m., Mar. 4, Takoma Park Community Center (7500 Maple Ave.)

Why Go: There's new art in the community galleries!

The "look" of the Galleries at the Community Center will change this
weekend with the installation of our new multi-media exhibit - "CYCLES"
- curated by Adam Griffiths.

The exhibit, which runs from February 28 through March 26, includes the
work of Marcie Wolf-Hubbard, Helina Metaferia, Rosalind Alumnah, and
students from the 2010 Mixed Media Artist Residency.  Join us this
coming Friday, March 4, for the opening reception.  Great opportunity to
meet the artists, learn more about their work and to hear a bit of music
by David Hubbard and Bob Lash of Sky High Radio.

Opening reception will be held in the Atrium Gallery on Friday, March
4, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Music starts at 6:30 pm.
