Strumming For All Levels -- 7:00-8:15 pm
Herb will explain how to strum, how to keep tempo and listen to rhythms. Focus will be on basic strumming patterns, including IZ's "Over the Rainbow" strum. This workshop is open to all levels of uke players.

Hawaiian Turnarounds and Apreggios -- 8:30-9:45 pm
Have you ever wondered how Hawaiian musicians pick the melodies to the instrumental part at the beginning or between verses while everyone else is strumming it? These are called turnarounds. Herb Ohta Jr. will teach you four Hawaiian Turnarounds in the Key of "C". Herb will also show you finger picking patterns, called arpeggios, that were taught to him by his father, Ohta-san. This workshop is geared for intermediate to advanced players.
