Taste the World in Fenton Village

Imagine enjoying food, music and cultures from around the globe -- all in one afternoon and within just a few blocks.

That’s what the second annual “Taste the World in Fenton Village” offers to area residents and visitors on Sunday, May 6 from 1 to 5 p.m.  Fenton Village is located just south of downtown Silver Spring between Wayne, Georgia and Burlington avenues and Fenton Street.

More similar to a “pub crawl” than an event assembled on sidewalks or public space, Taste the World welcomes participants into 24 restaurants to sample not just their specialties but their special atmosphere.  Restaurants will offer appetizers and small tasting plates at a minimal cost of $2 to $5 apiece.

Event attendees will pick up their special Taste the World passports at Parking Lot 3 on Fenton Street between Thayer and Silver Spring avenues beginning at 1 p.m. Once participants have their fill of the range of tastes, they can enter a free drawing for prizes from local merchants.
