Takoma Park House and Garden Tour
The 39th Annual Takoma Park House and Garden Tour showcases a dozen houses in North Takoma, ranging from an 1887 Victorian to a modern bungalow built in 2000. Previous residents include Frederick Douglass's daughter, mystery writer Martha Grimes, and azalea specialist Frederick Meyer. As an added bonus the contractors involved in renovating the houses will be on hand at several homes to answer your questions. The self guided tour runs rain or shine. Advance tickets ($18) are available from local merchants or online at historictakoma.org. On Tour Day, tickets ($20) are available at Upper Portal Park, Eastern and Piney Branch, along with tour brochures listing the house locations.
