Screening of "The Last Mountain"

Dance Exchange and the We Are Takoma film series host a screening of the documentary “The Last Mountain.” Exploring the struggle between energy needs and conservation, the film documents the fight that is happening in Coal River Valley, West Virginia. There, a small community of passionate locals is trying to stop the destructive practice of mountain top removal. Sponsored by the City of Takoma Park and the Arts and Humanities Council of Takoma Park, this event will take place at the Takoma Park Community Center at 7500 Maple Avenue.  Dance Exchange Artistic Director Cassie Meador will discuss her upcoming project “How to Lose a Mountain” and lead a Q&A around issues raised by the film.

Begins at 7:30pm. There is a suggested donation of $5 for this event.
