Capital City Cheesecake Releases Artist Night Calendar

Local mystery authors to kick off performance series, beginning July 21

A little more art and music will soon move in to Takoma Park, with the kick off of Capital City Cheesecake's artist performance series.

Thursday evening appearances by local authors, singers, musicians, storytellers and more will begin July 21. The restaurant has just released a calendar of its upcoming weekly featured artists.

Launching the series on July 21 is "Author Beer and Wine Night." The evening will feature local authors Tom Kauffman and Allison Leotta, writers of best-selling mysteries based in D.C. and Takoma Park. Kauffman and Leotta will discuss how they came to write the books and achieved success as local authors, meet with guests and sign copies of books which will be available for purchase.

The idea for the performances came from residents, according to co-owner Meaghan Murphy, who said she's had many requests to use the space to feature local art and performance. "We want to celebrate all the local talent we have among us and believe our space it the perfect place to do it."

Here is Capital City Cheesecake's upcoming Thursday perfomance calendar:
