Expect some delays all around the Red Line this weekend.

Red Line trains will operate every 10 minutes between the Shady Grove and New York Avenue stations, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, according to Metro's website.

At all other operating times, trains will run every 20 minutes between these stations. Between New York Avenue and Glenmont, trains will run every 20 minutes during all operating times this holiday weekend.

The delays will be due to single-tracking between the Forest Glen and Takoma Park Metro stations to allow for the installation of fiber optic cables and the reconstruction of platforms.

On the Green Line, free shuttle buses will replace trains between the Greenbelt and Fort Totten stations between 10 p.m. on Friday through closing on Monday. The Greenbelt, College Park, Prince George's Plaza and West Hyattsville stations will remain closed during the weekend.
