Doctors Community Hospital Provides Free Prostate Screenings

Doctors Community Hospital will offer free prostate specific antigen (PSA) and digital rectal exam (DRE) screenings performed by board-certified urologists on March 20 from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.  Appointments are required.

 

Prostate cancer is highly curable if detected early. New guidelines from the American Urological Association now recommend that men be offered a PSA test and digital rectal exam.

African-American Men

+ Ages 40 – 70

+ Family history of prostate cancer

 

Caucasian Men

+ Ages 50 – 75

+ Family history of prostate cancer

 


Recognize Some of the Potential Symptoms:


+ Trouble urinating

+ Lower back pain/discomfort

+ Blood in urine

+ Erectile dysfunction
