Another Dope Show

Imagine if you can, A dimly lit room with spiraling laser lighting cascading of the walls. A hansom, animated, brown skin, curly hair DJ, juggling his focus from his equipment to a crowd of young hip party goers requesting their favorite songs from the 90's. Wu-tang Clan, Bjork, Nirvana, Tupac, Mobb Deep, The Verve, O.D.B., Dishwalla and the list goes on. The smell of Vodka cocktails and beautiful perfumed women saturate the air as well dressed people walk about laughing and flirting. The walls dressed with a variety of art pieces from collages and photography to graphic art and paintings. A line forms as cheesecake and freshly brewed ice tea is being served. In the background the escalating sound of applause draws your attention but you don't know if it's because your favorite artist just sold his last piece or because the band just stepped on stage. You look at the clock. 9 pm. Your glass is getting low and then you remember that all BBW drink for free. The night is just getting started...

The Dopamine Clinic LLC will be throwing its signature art showcase for the second time this year. The original "Dope Show" was an eclectic coming together of local artists and art forms as well as a celebration of creativity and camaraderie. It was our first self-funded endeavor with a satisfying outcome that helped to put us on the map! It was a blast!

Our follow up to the paramount "Dope Show" fittingly named "Another Dope Show" promises to be a 100% upgraded! This time not only will there be more local artists from the DMV and more art forms, we are amping up the ambiance with not only our in house music maker, DJ Sub Thought premiering for the second time but we've also recruited the funky sounds of neighboring Baltimore band, @Dontrunk & #BoltiMotown! We'll also be featuring many veteran master artists from the first show as well as a few new spectacular talents from across DC, MD and VA!

Be prepared for a powerful, awe-inspiring atmosphere of the best soulful alternative music from the 90's when music was meaningful, passionate, and perfect! Magical paintings, eye-popping graphic design and photography, soul steering mixed media, collages and so much more! Not to mention that it's a casual B.Y.O.B affair with an open bar where all plus size BBW drink for free! There will also be cheesecake as well as a few other special surprised for our guests! This will be the last greatest party of 2013!

More About Dopamine Clinic LLC

Dopamine clinic is a DC based, Bohemian art and design studio that networks, facilitates, and promotes a vast host of local DC, Maryland, and Virginian artists. Incorporated in October of 2011, the "Clinic" as it is called by many of its artists and patrons has made many strides in the DC art community. Many of its artists have premiered in a number of well know events in the DC area such as the RAW Artist Showcase held at Penn Social, the Sandy Stories exhibit held at George Washington University honoring the victims of Super Storm Sandy, Kev Worldwide Fashion Boutique Grand Opening in DuPont Circle and Art-Ivism, a DC art exhibit featuring activist art pieces, posters and signs used throughout important political events and rallies around the country and held at Peace House in NW DC.

Founded and owned by Dele Akerejah, better known as Parlez Vous, Dopamine Clinic has been a surprising and satiating force within the local DC underground art community and is quickly becoming an organization recognized as one of the most ambitious, inclusive and rapidly budding art collectives in the city.

About Dopamine Clinic Events

Aside from the inclusion and participation of major art movements such as RAW Artists and Peace House, the Dopamine Clinic has sponsored and thrown two of their own notable events, garnering prominent numbers of attendees and generating massive buzz. The original "Dope Show", a eclectic art showcase and social networking party held at the Electric Maid in NW DC as well as "Collage-A-Trois, an annual celebration and showcase of local collage and mixed media artists, held soon after were both highly promoted and engaged events for the summer of 2013.
