Piney Branch Elementary School is a located next to the Takoma Park Recreation Center, Takoma Park Library, and the Takoma Park Police Station. It is within the Montgomery County Public School system, which has been rated one of the top school systems in the nation.
Piney Branch serves children from Kindergarten to fifth grades, and offers a magnet program for children in third to fifth grades. The principal is Mr. Bertram Generlette and the assistant principal is Mrs. Kara Tymon.
