There are a few light displays around Bowie this holiday season and one is the Symphony of Lights located in Columbia, Maryland. The proceeds benefit Howard County General Hospital. From Bowie, you are looking at about a 30-45 minute drive but the ride is worth it. Their display features roughly 70 giant light displays and kids of all ages are sure to enjoy. There are multiple options for how you can view the display, stick wtih the traditional drive thru route (which takes roughly 30 minutes) OR try one of their other options. Take a walk through with your dogs, walk through with your kids in a stroller or wagon, or travel with a group. The walk is less than a mile and a half and it is sure to be a wonderful experience no matter how you travel.
Be sure to check their website for the schedules if you plan to view the lights other than a car ride.
Dates and Hours for viewing lights through drive thru are:
Monday, November 19, 2012 - Sunday, January 6, 2013
Open 7 days a week from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm, including holidays except closed December 31st for the Midnight at 7 event.
For a 8 passenger vehicle the cost is $20, however if you go to the website I've posted below you can print a $5 off coupon.

It always gets me in the holiday mood to go on a Friday night and listen to WASH-FM play holiday tunes. Looking forward to it again this year.

I've always wanted to go to this but we always do Watkins instead I guess because it is closer, and cheaper! Is this better than the Watkins Park lights?

Wouldn't say better but more modern for sure. They use more LED lights and make changes every year whereas Watkins is "typically" the same display every year.

I have been looking for a coupon for this event and the only one I found was for the first week of December. I think that is a bit too early to go see the lights. Pick me, pick me!
