The Washington Adventist Hospital move from Takoma Park to Silver Spring is not financially feasible or viable in the future, according to a Maryland Health Care Commissioner.

Commissioner Barbara McLean wants the hospital's application for relocation denied, according to a 174-page recommendation she sent to other commissioners.

The full panel will makes its decision on the matter on Oct. 18 and the Takoma Park City Council will discuss McLean's recommendation at its next council meeting Sept. 10.

The hospital plans to relocate to a 48-acre campus in White Oak and the move would cost almost $400 million.
