Washington Adventist Hospital to Participate in Regional Capital Shield Exercise

The exercise will help the hospital prepare for any possible major emergency.

If Washington Adventist Hospital looks like a warzone Wednesday, there's not need to fret. The hospital will be participating in the Regional Capital Shield Exercise from 9:30 a.m. to noon to enhance emergency preparedness.

The annual exercise will involve several hospitals, military agencies, local health departments, first responders and local emergency management agencies.

Washington Adventist Hospital will treat patient actors arriving to the hospital via helicopters and ambulances. Actors will be in make-up to simulate injuries.
