Takoma Park Road Closures Coming Next Week

Roads will be closed the week of Oct. 1 and Oct. 8.

 

Washington Gas milling and paving work will occur the weeks of Oct. 1 and Oct. 8 and we're here to let you know what roads will affect you.

Street resurfacing work will begin the week of Oct. 1 through Oct. 12 on Tulip Avenue, Willow Avenue, Spruce Avenue, Valley View Avenue and Maple Avenue.

Eastern Paving will be performing the work on behalf of Washington Gas. The paving work was required to repair the streets in the areas where the gas line work took place.  

The schedule provided to the city from Washington Gas is as follows:

 

  • Oct 1. - milling Tulip Avenue between Carroll and Maple
  • Oct 2. - milling Willow Avenue between Tulip and Carroll, and milling Spruce Avenue between Tulip and Park
  • Oct 3. - milling Willow Avenue between Tulip and Valley View, milling Valley View between Spruce and Maple
  • Oct. 4 - milling Maple Avenue between Eastern and Philadelphia
  • Oct. 5 - completion of any remaining milling work, may start paving
  • Oct 8. - paving Tulip Avenue between Carroll and Maple
  • Oct 9. - paving Willow Avenue between Tulip and Carroll, and paving Spruce Avenue between Tulip and Park
  • Oct 10 - paving Willow Avenue between Tulip and Valley View, paving Valley View between Spruce and Maple
  • Oct. - 11, paving Maple Avenue between Eastern and Philadelphia,
  • Oct. - 12, completion of any remaining paving
