It's a good day to hang loose. Every year the surfing community celebrates International Surfing Day and this year it falls on June 20.

I grew up surfing the Jersey Shore and I know there are few people as passionate as surfers.

Even though Takoma Park is not exactly a beachside resort, residents still love their beach days. Traffic stretches for miles east on Rt. 50 as sun lovers anticipate kicking off their sandals and stetching out on the beach.

But for some, the thrill comes from paddling out and dropping into a clean wave. Don't be afraid to try the greatest sport around.
