Check out our two-part story on crime stats in Takoma Park.

Last week we asked readers if they felt safe in Takoma Park in anticipation of our two-part series on Takoma Park crime stats.

Well, the results are in. Eighty percent of respondents said they feel safe in Takoma Park and 20 percent said they did not.

Since our car was broken into just last week, our house has previously been broken into, and so has one of our neighbor's houses on our street, I guess the answer is no.

Usually. Although it's worth noting that my ward, ward 6, had the highest crime rates according to 2010 police stats (don't see stats for 2011 yet). And damn TP - could we get some better street lighting in some of these neighborhoods ??
