Baltimore Delegate Opposes Mizeur's School Funding Referedum

The referendum would look into raising the income tax to fund school construction.

A Baltimore lawmaker is miffed over a referendum, proposed by Del. Heather Mizeur (D-Dist. 20, of Takoma Park), that would raise the state income tax and use the funds for school construction, according to a report in the Gazette.

Baltimore Del. Frank M. Conaway Jr. (D-Dist. 40) doesn't think the Montgomery County delegate should be meddling in how Baltimore runs its schools.

"I understand that the Baltimore city school system may be in need of money, but I think this type of action should be initiated by a Baltimore city delegate," Conaway of Baltimore wrote, according to the Gazette story.
